Sam swore this evening(what else is new in this household?) - so he got a mere 5 minutes of no computer. That turned into a long 3 hour of more swearing, yelling, crying, begging and banging.Sam is leaving for Washington DC as a school trip tomorrow morning- for 3 nights. Should he go? Does he have anxiety about leaving home...? Sure it doesn't look that way...was it the allergy pill that he took this morning that is causing this misbehavior? I am exhausted...I'm sure he was too.
One therapist told us when I asked her what Sam would look like in the future - this was when Sam was 2-3 years old. Instead of saying "oh - don't worry, he is going to be fine", she said, "you make sure that his difficulties do not turn into his disabilities." Tonight was the night I wonder if I missed something...I am sorry if I did something wrong for Sam...I am usually positive about life and try to face it as is, but tonight I really hate autism - I wish no one has this challenges - not the person with autism, not his parents, his siblings nor his grandparents. People with autism have great talents, but sometimes their challenges overpower everything...very tough and frustrating sometimes. I hope tomorrow will be another day.
